Building a Business You Love (While Still Paying the Bills)

Today's episode is a long one. Travis has a really cool story about how his businesses have evolved since 2012! Towards the end of the podcast we dig a little deeper into some of the stuff I really wanted to know about what he is doing now and that at the end of the day he just wants to do cool projects with people he loves.

While I was interviewing him I was drawn to ask the question of how he pays the bills. It seems like a lot of people want to know that when they see someone with the lifestyle Travis or I live. It was quite interesting to hear about and I am going to start asking it more often. I think a lot of people make some assumptions about business owners and some of them being "rich" but I think a lot just get by doing what they want to spend their time on and they scrounge for money when needed. I realized this needs to be a staple question going forward. Being transparent as a business owner that is teaching others about the lifestyle + business they are running is important. It's not all sunshine and rainbows, that's for sure. I have been asking more of my friends this lately, "How do you pay your bills" and it's a good reality check to your own insecurities (or ego) when you find out you are potentially in the same spot as you.
