Feeling Special
You have a person or persons in your life that are special. These people are ones that make you feel special. In ways you don’t understand. They make you feel seen, heard and alive.
I was just reflecting on these people in my life. I have a hand full of them that I can recognize off the top of my head.
I recently had a conversation about one of them. It’s my mother in law. She is one of those special people. People actually recognize it and tell others. They gush about her if they get a chance to. They will seek you out just to tell you about her. About how special she is. About how she makes them feel. About how long they’ve had the pleasure of knowing her. About that one time she did this or that for them.
It’s a fascinating thing when you really think about it. When someone likes another person enough that they want to gush about them.
There are people out there that are just going around spreading sunshine and support like it’s their job. Like that’s why they were put on this earth. And if you ever mention it to these sunshine spreaders, they will deny it. They don’t think they are doing anything different than what a normal person would. Or they are just doing the right thing. But no matter what they will try to shift blame. They’ll blame their own parents. Or their community is what really helped them. Or their siblings or friends or coaches or whomever they can give credit to to shift the spotlight away from them.
No matter how often they see you, it’s like their best day ever. They spread their bits of magic to so many people. You look at this person like they are light in any situation. You seek them out when you’re having a tough time cause you know they can banish that darkness.
Think about this today. Think about who these someone’s are in your life. Reach out to them and say you see them and recognize this about them. It will put energy into their soul even if they shift the gratitude away from themselves.
