Just Stock Your House with the Damn TV’s

Yes, there are some rentals that are in the woods or overlooking a canyon, built for a couple or a solo person to stay, that should NOT have a TV. It literally ruins the experience.

I am not writing about those rentals. I am writing about the typical short term rental you likely have.

I think TV’s are important in rentals because people are here to unplug from work and their normal every day life. That might mean no TV, but that might mean binge TV.

What happens when they are booked to be at your beautiful beach house, but it rains for 2 days straight? No beach time, no mini golf time, no hiking through the park nearby. Guests want to veg out on the couch under blanket with their kids and watch a movie.

I once had a guy tell me that he didn’t intend to put TV’s in the bedrooms at his lake house because when he goes to the lake he is there to fish and it’s terrible that people would want to travel there to sit and watch TV. I quickly reminded him that just because he doesn’t watch TV at the lake doesn’t mean his guests will be the same Avatar as he is. I have a parent that actually can’t sleep without a TV on. So even though you personally don’t do the thing, doesn’t mean a lot of other people don’t do the opposite.

So I am here to say, just add the TV’s and if you have the space put one in every bedroom. Whether they get turned on or not, it’s a good way to accommodate guests of all kinds at your houses!
