More Real, Less Perfect: My Take on Transparency

I have been thinking a lot lately about transparency and accountability. There are a few places in my life that need this. I think about it a lot. I see how we are functioning out in the "real world" and also think it is needed across the board. If people were just accountable for their actions and took responsibility for things, we would be a lot better off. I put this in a similar area with transparency. If people communicated their intentions and were transparent with what is (really) happening it would make us all better off as well. This is true with the people you are watching and following on TV + Social Media. People are in such a depressed and anxious state because of the way life is portrayed on social media and everyone feels like they are behind or need to do X to be happy. It is a bummer to watch a lot of people play the comparison game and not realize, you don't have the whole story. In social media, on the news, even when visiting in real life with a friend, most of the time you don't have the whole story (nor will you ever). There is always hidden things (agendas, feelings, omitted details and facts).  I really want people to be more accountable for their actions and for more transparency. So I am going to practice this more often. I am going to try and share the gross stuff on my accounts so you know, it's not all sunshine + rainbows. Although I don't dwell in the gross as often as I used to. I hang in the sunshine + rainbows these days because that is where I want to be..
